“Following the Sun” exhibition in the Main Library

Following the Sun - exhibition

The “Following the Sun” exhibition is much more than an exhibition of beautiful paintings. It is a tribute to the strength, perseverance and indomitability of the human spirit.

Mila Chyżawska invites viewers on a journey through a painterly tale at the heart of which are sunflowers - symbols of beauty, but also of extraordinary strength. The exhibition will include both monumental, large-format canvases depicting panoramic fields of sunflowers and smaller paintings allowing for a more intimate contact with the work.

Mila Chyżawska's sunflowers are more than just a study of nature. The artist uses the symbolism of these plants to tell the story of the strength of resistance of the Ukrainian indomitable people in the face of aggression. The dry, tenacious sunflowers become a metaphor for those who, despite adversity, still “follow the sun” - for hope, freedom and independence. This is a play that moves, makes you reflect and reminds you of extraordinary courage.

Please join us on 4 July at 6 p.m. for the official opening of the exhibition, which will be held in the Gallery of the UG Main Library on the ground floor.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until 31 July 2025.
