Flipster digital magazines - trial access until August 30, 2025
Dear Readers,
starting today, the University of Gdańsk Library is enabling trial access to the Flipster platform.
Flipster is an easy-to-use digital magazine kiosk that provides readers with access to popular magazines from top publishers including Time Inc, Conde Nast, Meredith, Bloomberg L.P. and many more. With Flipster, users can browse thousands of magazines on a desktop or mobile device, can browse magazines by category, and can search for specific titles. An online carousel, showing current issues, provides quick access to the latest issues.
“Following the Sun” exhibition in the Main Library
The “Following the Sun” exhibition is much more than an exhibition of beautiful paintings. It is a tribute to the strength, perseverance and indomitability of the human spirit.
Mila Chyżawska invites viewers on a journey through a painterly tale at the heart of which are sunflowers - symbols of beauty, but also of extraordinary strength. The exhibition will include both monumental, large-format canvases depicting panoramic fields of sunflowers and smaller paintings allowing for a more intimate contact with the work.
Pack a book for the holidays - exhibion
The Neophilology Library invites you to this year's edition of the "Pack a book for the holidays" exhibition.
The exhibition presents bestselling Scandinavian crime novels and other popular publications in Polish and in English, Icelandic, German, Italian and other languages, which can be borrowed for the whole summer holidays! The exhibition is accompanied by an exhibition of quotations and sentences from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries promoting libraries and reading.
‘Our Graduates. People of Philology’ - exhibition
The Faculty of Languages and the Neophilology Library invite you to view the exhibition ‘Our Graduates. People of Philology’ organised on the occasion of the UG World Alumni Convention. It will be an extraordinary sentimental journey, presenting photographs, notes, notebooks, indexes and other artefacts related to studies, as well as laurels and awards of outstanding Graduates of the Faculty of Languages obtained during their studies and remarkable professional careers.

We invite you to an exhibition of paintings by Maximilian Gral, a student at the University of Gdańsk. The exhibition shows how light - and the lack of it - influences human emotions and feelings. It is a painterly tale of the invisible but deeply felt.
The exhibition can be seen at the UG Main Library from 27 May to 14 June 2025
Meeting with Brigitte Giraud at the MainLibrary
Join us for a meeting with Brigitte Giraud, a prominent French writer and editor and winner of the Goncourt Prize. In her work, deeply moving, highly personal and at the same time universal, Brigitte Giraud analyses the impact of time, place, political situation, climate, work and social status on human destiny.
The meeting in French will take place on 23 May
at 10.30 a.m. in the Main Library, on the first floor.

Exhibition of works by participants of the art workshops of the Gdańsk University of the Third Age
We would like to invite you to the exhibition of the participants of the Artistic Workshops of the Gdańsk University of the Third Age under the supervision of Dr Wojciech Zaniewski. The presented works are mainly a review summarising the artistic activity of the students in the academic year 2024/25.
The exhibition is dominated by classical techniques - pastel, watercolour, acrylic. The set of works is characterised by a variety of approaches to motifs and their subjective interpretation.
‘Secrets of my neighbourhood’ - photography exhibition inspired by the prose of Brigitte Giraud
The Neophilology Library invites you to view an exhibition of photographs by the winners of the international student competition ‘Secrets of My Neighbourhood’, relating to the work of Brigitte Giraud, a prominent French writer and editor and winner of the Goncourt Prize. The photographic exhibition, which is located in the main hall of the Neo-Philology building, is accompanied by an exhibition in the Neophilology Library, presenting the figure and creative output of the author, who will be a guest of the Faculty of Philology and the UG Main Library on 23 May.
